Rotating Platens Systems

For those applications involving larger and more complex irregular shaped parts, our range of Smart Presses are available. These systems offer the additional advantage of platen rotation and normally add a Continuous Cutting Belt option for the feed mechanism. CCB feeds offer the ability to transport and cut on the same surface, thereby overcoming any difficulties that might normally occur when feeding limp or flimsy materials, or parts that tend to stick in, or on, the cutting surface after cutting. These feeds are usually augmented with Gripper/ Clamp bar equipment to ensure both positive feeding of multiply materials and also serve to hold the material securely in place during the cutting sequence.

We have several models available with tonnage capabilities between 25 and 80 tons and platen sizes from 19.6” square up to 39” square, with cutting belt widths up to 80”.

Cutting belts are nylon faced to provide maximum durability and on most of our models the cutting belt can be replaced in a pre-joined condition, thereby reducing scheduled down time.

We have digitizing and software packages that compliment the systems, to suit your needs, allowing jobs to be pre-planned or costed off-line, ensuring maximum yield and the highest levels of productivity.

As with our 2 axis models, there is little skill required, programming can be carried out off line and loaded via a simple diskette or network connection. The available nesting programs are designed to compliment the machine features and seamlessly integrate with the machine controls. These systems are capable of operating in a continuous production environment, with little supervision other than to load material and to remove cut product.

Die changing is quick and easy: Standard, inexpensive, steel rule dies can be used, by simply attaching them to a carrier plate that is slid into position beneath the cutting platen and as an added feature, we can also offer systems incorporating automatic parts collection.
